About Mr Cooper

Hello, friends!

My name is Mr Cooper.

I'm originally from Madison, Wisconsin, where I grew up. I spent some time in California and New Mexico. My family moved to Rhode Island when I was in high school. I went to college in Michigan, went to grad school in Pennsylvania, and then spent some time living in China before moving to Minnesota in 2015. I was born in the Midwest and moved back here by choice.

In my free time, I enjoy gardening, reading and learning languages. I can speak Mandarin Chinese fluently; I'm currently working on learning the Arabic and Slovak languages.

I've been several things in my career. I've been a data analyst, and I've been a worker in a machine shop. But the job I've enjoyed most is teaching, and I've done that for six years. I taught English to elementary and middle schoolers in two provinces in northern China: Inner Mongolia and Henan Province. I've also taught English remotely to middle and high schoolers in Changsha, Hunan Province in southern China. I've done substitute teaching here in the Twin Cities, and I was a fourth grade teacher at Higher Ground Academy in Saint Paul.

My wife, Ms Zong, is also a teacher. We have two children: Eleanore and Albert.

I look forward to teaching all of you, and I know we will have a lot of fun and amazing growth this year!

With lots of love,

Mr Cooper
